Man Commits Suicide Leaves Note To Obama

Posted by TheJOTUS on October 31, 2008

Yesterday a man commited suicide by jumping to his death off of El Paso’s Spaghetti Bowl interchange.  Apparently he left a note for Obama in his car, which was parked a short distance from the launch site.  Police confirmed the note read “Obama take care of my family.”

About 7:45 a.m., police responded to a report that the 52-year-old El Paso man had jumped off the uppermost ramp of the Spaghetti Bowl. His body was found on I-10 west just before the Copia Street exit. His name was not released.

Police confirmed that the man left behind a note that read, “Obama take care of my family.”

How touching.  Apparently this douche bag didn’t stop to think that it was his responsibility to take care of his family.  Instead, he couldn’t handle the grueling pressures of life so he pulled a Peter Pan and jumped 60 feet to his death.  Coward.

The silver lining of this story is that it is definitely one less vote for Obama, which is a good thing.  Plus, not only was this loser not thinking of his family and friends, he was also not thinking of Obama.  Depending on when the funeral takes place, it makes it difficult for the people paying their respects to go out and vote on Tuesday.  Possibly costing Obama votes.  Although it’s Texas, which probably isn’t going for Obama anyway, but still.  This guy really was a selfish bastard.

On a side note in the story, I am guessing the question was asked why the city doesn’t put fencing along this part of the interchange.  Apparently another coward jumped to his death early last year:

Texas Transportation Department spokeswoman Blanca Del Valle said there were no plans to install fencing along any of the Spaghetti Bowl ramps because the ramps weren’t meant to accommodate pedestrians.

“There’s funding issues involved, and it may mean replacing what we have now,” Del Valle said. “There are tubes in the barriers along the ramps, and studies would have to be done to determine if the tubes could hold the fencing.”

You know, there is an extreme amount of planning when drawing up a massive interchange.  I am betting “what happens when a selfish, cowardly bastard jumps to his death” scenario never came up in the brain storming meetings.

Super Terrific Happy Half Hour Deemed “misleading”

Posted by TheJOTUS on October 31, 2008

Because I was unable to watch Obama’s infomercial last night, I had to do some research.  The impression wasn’t exactly……well……impressive.  At least from the AP’s point of view.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was less than upfront in his half-hour commercial Wednesday night about the costs of his programs and the crushing budget pressures he would face in office.

Obama’s assertion that “I’ve offered spending cuts above and beyond” the expense of his promises is accepted only by his partisans. His vow to save money by “eliminating programs that don’t work” masks his failure throughout the campaign to specify what those programs are – beyond the withdrawal of troops from Iraq.

The Associated Press seems to think Barry misled viewers on several areas in his Super Terrific Happy Half Hour propaganda piece.  Let’s look at a few:

  • Health care costs – Obama claimed his plan would lower costs by $2500 per year per family, but it doesn’t.  In fact, Obama can’t point to any particular cost reductions.  He plans to spend $50 billion over five years on modernization and chronic-disease prevention and presumes that this will lower costs in the future, but in the meantime it raises costs at least in the short run on everyone (the $50 billion doesn’t come out of thin air).
  • The Pay-Go of his plans – No, he hasn’t demonstrated that he’s found the revenue for his spending, despite his claims last night.  Non-partisan analysts believe that his spending programs will add at least $428 billion to the deficit in his first term, and that’s if you accept his non-specific pledge to cut spending in other areas.
  • Tax cuts for working class families – Before the commercial aired, he had already begun backing away from that idea because of the financial crisis, although Obama didn’t acknowledge it in the ad.
  • The “right” to affordable health care – Obama doesn’t guarantee coverage in any of his plans, at least not for adults.
  • Getting out of Iraq – Obama noted that the US spends $10 billion a month in Iraq and talked again about “bringing that war to a close” — but he’s backed away from his previous pledges to get out on a strict 16-month timetable, which is as fast as the remaining units can be properly withdrawn.

Whew.  Thank God we didn’t miss much.  Except for the usual lack of truth by B. Hussein Obama.

Iraqis Think Obama Is Weak

Posted by TheJOTUS on October 31, 2008

Unfortunately, Iraqis can’t vote here in the states.  However, it is interesting to see how the country Barack Obama would have left for dead responds to the idea of him leading the nation that liberated their country.  Not surprisingly, most worried that Obama won’t be able to stand up to the nut job over in Iran, or frankly anybody for that matter:

For five years Ali and Mohammed have lived alongside US soldiers in their Baghdad neighbourhood near Rasheed Street, a prominent commercial artery running through the heart of the Iraqi capital.

During that time American culture and politics have become familiar to them, and they say that if they could, they would vote for Republican candidate John McCain in next week’s US presidential election. …

“The Iranians believe that if Obama is elected he will not take action against them despite their nuclear ambitions. That worries me,” said Ali, sitting on an old bench in Al-Zahawi coffee shop.

“If the Iranians get the bomb they will become the Tarzan of the region,” said the former teacher and lecturer at the University of Baghdad, referring to the vine-swinging strongman of the jungle in old Hollywood movies.

Mohammed, also a professor at the university, said he too preferred McCain “because Obama supports a rapid withdrawal of US troops.”

“Our army is still too weak and Turkey and Iran are threats. Iran’s President (Mahmoud) Ahmadinejad has warned Iran would fill the void left when US troops depart,” he said.

Clearly, these people understand world and regional politics much better than Barack Obama.  They also comprehend military strategy and tactics better than Obama.  But most importantly, they understand what would have happened if Bush–America– had followed Obama’s advice rather than fighting the terrorists and securing Iraq.

But let not the heart be sorrow.  Obama has his middle east fans–al Qaeda:

An al Qaeda leader has called for President George W. Bush and the Republicans to be “humiliated,” without endorsing a party in the upcoming U.S. presidential election, according to an Internet video posting.

“O God, humiliate Bush and his party, O Lord of the Worlds, degrade and defy him,” Abu Yahya al-Libi said at the end of sermon marking the Muslim feast of Eid al-Fitr, in a video posted on the Internet.

So……he has that going for him.

Super Terrific Happy Half-Hour – Revisited

Posted by TheJOTUS on October 30, 2008

I was intending to watch Obama’s Super Terrific Happy Half-Hour infomercial.  I was.  But I couldn’t bring myself to tune in.  One, it was paid for with money that was obtained through Obama ‘s participation in criminal fraud with his internet donations.  Another, is that the mere sound of his voice makes my stomach turn.  Literally.  But, the truth is my ball hair needed trimming and pulling each hair out one by one was far less painful that watching that socialist windbag.

However, Michelle Malkin did watch (God bless her).  So she has a live blog here.

Exit question:  Is it just me or is it irritating to hear his hesitant, measured voice?  Plus the way he says anything ending in “s?”  He sort of whistles or hisses like a snake.

Super Terrific Happy Half-Hour

Posted by TheJOTUS on October 29, 2008

Tonight is Obama’s half infomercial he paid three networks to air (and some other outlets).  This is unprecedented territory as no Presidential candidate in history has had this much cash monies to afford such an expenditure.  Of course, we now know that Obama’s fundraising rests, at least partly, on his decision to enable criminal fraud in the campaign’s fundraising. How much will be paid for by illegal donations, encouraged by his campaign, we probably will never know.

In addition, Obama’s outright lie of accepting federal funding for the general election and then completley doing a 180.  If you think Barack Obama would have had it any other way, then you don’t understand Barack Obama.  Do you think when Obama met with his advisors to discuss how to sell his breaking a pledge to participate in federal financing of the general election, that anyone said: “But, but, but, but, but Senator, you would be breaking your word”?  Me either.

Will tonight help Obama?  Probably.  People are stupid and have zero ability to pick up on a line of bullshit when it is right in front of them, which it most definitely will be tonight.  So before he even speaks one word, allow me to sum up what he is going to tell you.  Cause ladies and gentlemen, I can smell the bullshit from here:

He will raise your taxes

He will take from the earners and give to those who don’t

He will socialize medicine

He will brutally weaken our economy

He will weaken our defense and military

He will appease known terrorists

He will aid in the destruction of Israel and help elevate a Palestinian State

So there are just a few.  I mean he only has a half hour.  Even The One can only squeeze so much into a half hour infomercial.

Bar Stool Economics

Posted by TheJOTUS on October 29, 2008

Although an elementary way to explain it, it still sums it up in a nut shell:

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100.  If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.

The fifth would pay $1.

The sixth would pay $3.

The seventh would pay $7.

The eighth would pay $12.

The ninth would pay $18.

The tenth man (the richest, winners of life’s lottery) would pay $59.

So, that’s what they decided to do.  The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve.

“Since you are all such good customers,” he said, “I’m going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20.”

Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected.  They would still drink for free.  But what about the other six men – the paying customers?  How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his “fair share?”

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33.  But if they subtracted that from everybody’s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer.  So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man’s bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).

The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).

The seventh now paid $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).

The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).

The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).

The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before.  And the first four continued to drink for free.  But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.

“I only got a dollar out of the $20,” declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man, “but he got $10!”

“Yeah, that’s right,” exclaimed the fifth man. “I only saved a dollar, too.  It’s unfair that he got ten times more than I!”

“That’s true!!” shouted the seventh man. ”Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!”

“Wait a minute,” yelled the first four men in unison. “We didn’t get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!”

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn’t show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn’t have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, folks, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction.  Coincidentally, the poor benefit from this system as well yet with their greed they demand more.

Keep taxing the rich, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore.  Then what?

A Polished Turd Is Still……A Turd

Posted by TheJOTUS on October 28, 2008

Penn and Teller have a very simple view of B. Hussein Obama’s tax plan:

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you it wasn’t really appropriate for work.  Then again, neither is Obama’s tax plan……appropriate that is.

Well said P & T, well said.

The Irony Of Bill Ayers

Posted by TheJOTUS on October 27, 2008

Late last week, Bill O’Reilly had his staff go over to unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers’ house in Chicago to see if a few questions could get answered.  Now, I always thought it was rude when the scummy Hollywood paparazzi shoved some camera in a stars face to ask a ridiculous question.  But……in this case, an obvious exception is in order.

For one, since Obama won’t legitimately answer any question about this terrorist and what his associations are with him, you have to go to the source.  Another is that he is a terrorist.  So who cares what is done to him.

The irony in this video–as O’Reilly points out–is that Ayers, who was directly involved in a conspiracy to kill police, calls the police for protection.  Or it could be Ayers warning a reporter about his property rights……

The fact that O’Reilly brings this to light now is both bitter and sweet.  Sweet, because well, he finally brought it up.  Bitter, because he had the chance to do this almost two months ago when he had his ball fondling interview with Obama.

Obama’s Politics

Posted by TheJOTUS on October 17, 2008

Up until a few days ago, we had no idea who Joe the Plumber was other than it was a metaphor for the average american.  That was until B. Hussein Obama walked up to a guy–who happens to be named Joe and is a plumber–playing football in his front yard with his son.

We now know Joe the Plumber is actually Samuel J. Wurzelbacher.  And his 15 minute fame clock started ticking when he questioned TheOne on his ridiculous tax policy.  Poor Joe…

Now that Obama’s marxist, socialist, economy crushing tax plan has been exposed for the fraud that it is, he is fighting back.  Well, his media minions and others are doing the fighting for him.  In two short days, we have people digging into his tax records, his voter registration, his professional licensing, his divorce, just trying to crush this guy.  All for doing nothing more than asking a question–at random.

This morning on Fox, Howard Wolfson’s (formally with the Clinton campaign) entire segment was focused on Joe’s tax lien he has on his house.  He kept repeating it as if JTP was running for some political office and was trying to discredit him.  Well guess what Howard, there is a guy running for President where the treasurer of his campaign, Martin Nesbitt, has his own tax liens.  His companies do too.  If tax liens are such an indicator of character and credibility, wouldn’t it have more significance for the treasurer of a presidential campaign than for a man who just asked a question of the candidate–at random?

People who live in glass houses Howard……

But frankly, it doesn’t matter whether or not JTP has a tax issue, or his divorce, or what he does for a living.  He never claimed to be making $250,000 a year.  When he told Obama “I’m getting ready to buy a company that makes about 250, 270 – 80 thousand dollars a year, your new tax plan is going to tax me more isn’t it? I’m getting taxed more and more for fulfilling the American dream,” isn’t nearly as important as how Obama answered him:  That he will take from the earners and give to those who don’t.

Trickle down economics are a thing of the past.  What we have now is trickle up poverty.
