Kansas Governor Looking At A New Job

Posted by TheJOTUS on February 20, 2009

It looks like Kathleen Sebelius has been selected as B. Hussein Obama’s third choice for Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Since she was struggling to do her current job, Barry thought he would promote her.  The New York Times notes:

Should she be nominated, Ms. Sebelius would bring eight years of experience as her state’s insurance commissioner as well as six years as a governor running a state Medicaid program.

So……apparently now, since Obama was elected, a Governor’s experience is now some how relevant.

Joe The Plumber: War Correspondent And Now Author

Posted by TheJOTUS on February 18, 2009

No, really.

Joe the Plumber (Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher) first came into our lives during the campaign when he dared question B. Hussein Obama’s philosophy on redistributionism.  But alas, not even Joe could slow down the political machine that is Barack Obama.

In January, after apparently laying low since the election, he went to work as a Pajamas Media reporter on the war.  Upon arriving, he wasted no time in telling the media in Sderot on how to do a job he himself has never done:

“You should be ashamed of yourself,” he told foreign reporters.

“You should be patriotic, protect your family and children, not report like you have been doing for the past two weeks since this war has started,” he said.

The people of Sderot “can’t do normal things day to day,” like get soap in their eyes in the shower, for fear a rocket might come in, Wurzelbacher said. “I’m sure they’re taking quick showers. I know I would.”

He also wondered why Israel waited so long to act. “I know if I were a citizen here, I’d be damned upset.” He described himself as a “peaceloving man,” but added, “when someone hits me, I’m going to unload on the boy. And if the rest of the world doesn’t understand that, then I’m sorry.”

So maybe not so much a reporter, like reporting objectively, but more like a cheerleader.  Similar to the main stream media, who is pro-hamas, our dear Joe’s bias is pro-Israel.  And that is fine, I am too.  But let’s not go down the same road the MSM does in picking sides instead of reporting fairly.  Or lecturing.  Bottom line Joe, stick to plumbing.

Or……you could write a book instead!

Since Israel and the I-hate-Israel-crowd are getting along now……ahem……Joe has decided to try his hand at writing with his new book:  Joe the Plumber: Fighting for the American Dream (actually it was published in December, but let’s not focus on the wrong part of the story).

Ahh yes, the American dream.  The dream where you stumble into the white hot media spotlight, on a national stage, and then milk it for everything you can.  Just like this person, and this person and this person again.  Not to mention the uber lucrative American dream of smoking your entire life and then suing the tobacco company when you – gasp – are diagnosed with cancer.

Oh, and don’t forget the new American dream where you take out a huge mortgage, one completely beyond your means, and then getting the sucker taxpayer to pay for it.

But I shouldn’t really hate on JTP.  He was thrust into the spotlight by merely asking a question of TheOne during the campaign.  Subsequently, he had his tax records, his voter registration, his professional licensing, his divorce – his entire life –  exposed for all to see.

So maybe I can hit the snooze button once on Joe’s 15 minutes of fame clock.

TheOne Now Has His Category

Posted by TheJOTUS on February 18, 2009

At least according to a Borders bookstore in Dallas, Texas.  A Borders spokeswoman had this canned response:

“We are a completely politically neutral organization,” she said. “As you can imagine we carry every political perspective, authors from both parties.

“What happened here is those books were for kids and they were put under an overarching sign. Our team did not mean to imply an inappropriate classification,” she said.

Or……orrrrrrr, they could be just making fun of the left’s adoration of Obamunism as a belief system.

Yeah, I don’t think so either:

Obama Officially Puts The Crap Sandwich On The Menu

Posted by TheJOTUS on February 17, 2009

Today B. Hussein Obama signed the stimulus bill, or crap sandwich, into law four days after Congress passed it.  Ooops, President B. Hussein Obama.

Four days.  Four……days.

Obama spent all last week – including a primetime presser – spreading doom and gloom and telling the American people “Our economic crisis could become a national catastrophe” if this bill isn’t passed swiftly.  Republicans practically begged for more time so that Congress…hello!!…and the American people could learn what was actually in this trillion dollar boondoggle.

But nooooooooooo.  Buh, buh, buh, buh Barry and the ‘crats would have none of that.  This was emergency legislation and needed to be passed now!  Pronto!  Immediately!  El mucho fasto!

So important was the legislation that dingy Harry Reid took the extra step of extending the vote for several hours (quite unheard of I hear).  When dingy knew he didn’t have the 60 votes necessary to move forward, he held it open until 11pm so that Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown -who was attending a wake for his mother, who had died a few days earlier, could make it back to cast his vote.  Priorities, democrat style.

So did Obama sign this emergency piece of legislation when it passed on Friday night?  Nope.  He was on vacation.  How about Saturday?  Nope.  Still on vacation.  Sunday?  Nooooope.  Vacation.  He waited until Monday……err……wait, he was still on vacation.

It wasn’t until Tuesday – today – four days later, that Obama headed to Denver for his photo-op.  That is how much this legislation meant to Barry.

Before his publicity stunt today his staff went live with the latest campaign tool, a misleading website, that will allow people to track where the money is being spent.  Here is a little graph to show where the cash monies is supposed to be going:

Oh, with the asterisk you get this explanation:

* Tax Relief – includes $15 B for Infrastructure and Science, $61 B for Protecting the Vulnerable, $25 B for Education and Training and $22 B for Energy, so total funds are $126 B for Infrastructure and Science, $142 B for Protecting the Vulnerable, $78 B for Education and Training, and $65 B for Energy.

What?  What the hell does that mean?  And what the hell is “Protecting the Vulnerable?”

Sarah Palin Says 500 Million Jobs Lost Every Month

Posted by TheJOTUS on February 8, 2009

Oh wait, that wasn’t Sarah Palin?  Oh that’s right, it was uber boob, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who clearly has no idea how many people are in America.  Not to mention, work, in America.

Perhaps she was including the people in the eight additional states we have……

According to Pelosi, if we don’t get some sort of economic recovery soon, we are on pace to lose 6 billion jobs this year.  Just shy of  the total population on planet Earth.  Man, that is what I call a Depression.  Oh, I forgot about the 3 million jobs the current proposed spending bill will create.  Soooooo, we are not as bad as I thought.

You would think this was just a slip of the tongue; however, knowing the democrats ability to fear monger one can’t be too sure.

But one thing is certain: When you have a politician unable to differentiate between “thousands” and “millions,” you have a problem.

The Ingredients In The Crap Sandwich

Posted by TheJOTUS on February 8, 2009

This guy has put up an incredibly easy to use, searchable version of the Obama/democrat/three RINO’s spending bill.

Ummm, did I mention it was easy to use?  And searchable?

Check Out The Funbags On This Hosehound

Posted by TheJOTUS on February 8, 2009

A woman in Texas has apparently undergone a crap load of boob job surgeries and now has the largest boob implants in the world.  Now that is boobalicious.  Of course they weren’t all done at once, she did them incrementally.  She went from a size 34FFF to a 38KKK.  I think anything larger will require a valve stem.

It turns out she had to go to Brazil to get the additional surgeries because our American doctors are a bunch of pansies.  Or gay.

She isn’t much of a looker……fine, she is alright.  But those bad boys are made for speed.

Democrats: We Don’t Need No Stinkin Sixty, We Have A Few RINO’s We Can Call On

Posted by TheJOTUS on February 7, 2009

Hey, remember when I got my panties all in a bundle over Judd Gregg and his “alleged” Republican replacement?  Yeah…turns out it doesn’t matter so much.

Apparently a deal has been made in the Senate on the gigantic crap sandwich, train wreck, complete rectal damaging “stimulus package.”  Or spending bill as our incompetent President said there was no difference.  At any rate, Senate Republicans-in-name-only Susan Collins and Arlen Spector strolled on over to the other side to help seal the deal.  Olympia Snowe is in the mix as well, but none want to be the 60th vote.

With a 58-41 democrat edge, the margin here is so close that ol’  Teddy will fly in from Florida off his death bed to cast the needed 60th vote.  How nice.  So, at 37 years of age, Teddy Kennedy did not have the strength to try to rescue Mary Jo Kopechne from her watery grave.  But at 75 years of age, and gravely ill, has the strength to rush back to Washington to vote for Obama’s stimulus bill.  Them are some priorities folks, Kennedy style.

Barry has had a hard time selling this polished turd.  In just the past couple of weeks, support for it has dropped 17 points, 10 points among democrats.  But he was a persistant little buggar.  With his slogan-filled, fear mongering column in the Washington Post, to his little pep rally speech at the House democrat’s retreat on Thursday that was chocked full of worn out campaign rhetoric:

“We’re not going to get relief by turning back to the very same policies that, for the last eight years, doubled the national debt and threw our economy into a tailspin,” he said. “We can’t embrace the losing formula that says only tax cuts will work for every problem we face, that ignores critical challenges like our addiction to foreign oil, or the soaring cost of health care, or failing schools and crumbling bridges and roads and levees.

“I don’t care whether you’re driving a hybrid or an SUV — if you’re headed for a cliff, you’ve got to change direction.”

… “We’re not moving quickly because we’re trying to jam something down people’s throats,” he said. “We’re moving quickly because if we don’t, the economy’s going to keep getting worse.”

To critics who argue that the government shouldn’t be spending billions with a large and growing deficit, Obama said, “I found this national debt doubled, wrapped in a big bow waiting for me as I stepped into the Oval Office.”

So to clarify Mr. President:  Bush left you with a national debt that was doubled, and your best solution to “change” the country’s direction is to triple or quadruple that debt by cramming an $827 billion spending bill down our throat?  What?  WTF?

What happened to that 95% tax cut he kept yammering about on the campaign trail?  Support for the stimulus plan jumps 13 points — to 71 percent — when tax cuts for individuals and businesses are added to the package.  Obama calls that theory hogwash and shows just what a liar he was on the campaign trail.  But as Obama tells us: “I won.”  Rich Lowery at NR says Obama is reduced to this crude appeal is a symptom of the intellectual collapse of the case for his stimulus bill:

The president should read the transcript of the third presidential debate. He claimed his program represented “a net spending cut.” He called himself “a strong proponent of pay-as-you-go. Every dollar that I’ve proposed, I’ve proposed an additional cut so that it matches.” He added, “We need to eliminate a whole host of programs that don’t work.”

Now, circumstances change, and no president can adhere to every jot and tittle from his campaign, but the “I won” argument only works if the campaign program matches the governing program. Obama himself seems confused on what exactly “I won” means.

In a meeting with congressional Republicans, he brandished “I won” as a defense of his version of tax relief. But he later used “I won” to push back against an excessive reliance on tax cuts, claiming that it had been repudiated during the campaign even though he talked every day on the trail of cutting taxes for “95 percent of working people” and never once mentioned a commitment to extreme deficit spending.

Mitch McConnell put this porker of a spending bill in a big picture perspective:  “if you started the day Jesus Christ was born and spent $1 million every day since then, you still wouldn’t have spent $1 trillion.”

Dude.  That is a lot of bread.  And no need to check his math, PolitiFact already did it:  2,012 times 365 (yes, we are aware there are leap years..don’t be like that) times $1,000,000. A: $734 billion (give or take a few hundred million).  And that is about $100 billion less than what was passed.

But what if we break it down for the little guy, John and Jane Q. taxpayer?  There are roughly 138 million of us in this country.  That breaks down to about $6,000 per taxpayer.  $12,000 per family.   Now, if you are being nominated for a position in Obama’s administration, that might not matter.  But for those of us that do pay our taxes, that’s a big matzah ball.

Bottom line, we weren’t going to stop this bill.  But this means Obama and the democrats own it and hopefully we won’t let them forget it in 2010.
