Mitch McConnell To Obama Administration: Stop Being A Dick

Posted by TheJOTUS on September 23, 2009

Or something like that…

Maybe it was a scolding, or perhaps just a talkin’ to.  At any rate, Mitch McConnell had issues with the administration’s attempt to infringe on free speech:

“I would remind my colleagues that I have spent my career defending the First Amendment rights of people to criticize their elected officials, including me. I would make the same argument if this were a company based in San Francisco or Helena or Chicago.

“The right to free speech is at the core of our democracy. Free citizens have a First Amendment right to petition their government for a redress of grievances. This gag order on companies like Humana and those in all our states, in my view, is a clear violation of that right. It’s wrong.

“Employers that warn their customers about the effects of legislation aren’t the ones who should be getting warnings here. Senators who threaten Americans’ First Amendment rights are.”

And in between, he makes this comparison:

“Is this how citizens and companies can expect to be treated if health reform passes? That any health provider that disagrees with a powerful Senator will be subject to an investigation and a gag order?

“How is this any different than what the Washington Post and New York Times have done in lobbying for a reporter shield law? Would we stand by if the Judiciary Committee asked the FBI to investigate the media for taking positions on pending legislation we don’t agree with? Of course not.”

If newspapers and other media outlets can comment or communicate to their customers/clients on political issues, why wouldn’t Humana have that same right?  Oh yeah, they do.  And there is no difference.

You know, during the Bush administration it was the left who screamed “free speech” at every turn.  Now, when challenged, it seems they are the ones who want to infringe on it.

Local Fox News Anchor Finds A Unique Way To Drop The F-Bomb

Posted by TheJOTUS on September 18, 2009

It’s possible he was just recommending his way of seasoning poultry and just wanted to get his point across.

Nah, I think it’s more along the line that Ernie Anastos is a complete racist.

You wonder what the hell this guy was thinking.  If you listen as he is introducing the next segment, he is completely calm and doesn’t even skip a beat.  Oddly calm for a guy who just told someone to sodomize a chicken on live TV.

You know what the first thing that came to mind after watching this clip?  Yeah, you guessed it.  Or it could have been this.

Best part:  The weatherman responding “Ok, I’ll do that.”  And the look on the anchorette’s face.  Classic.

Oh, Yakov Smirnoff just emailed: In soviet russia, chicken fucks YOU!

I got a million of them…

Morning Potpourri

Posted by TheJOTUS on September 16, 2009

A few links to help you screw off for the first hour at work.  Or maybe longer.  Those TPS reports can wait.

First up is  A site that tells you exactly what time during a movie it is relatively safe to use the bathroom.  A quite ingenious concept.  Especially when Miss I Gotta Have Soda and Popcorn orders the 8.6 gallon tank of soda.  I mean you are paying 19% interest on it, you might as well drink it.

Next, I Hate My Parents.  Some of my childhood photos could rate right up there.  Which is why mom and dad will be going to separate, third tier nursing homes.

Finally, The People of WalMart.  This has been making the rounds via email, but I am sharing it anyway.  WalMart seems to get a bad wrap, but it has been pretty decent to me.  There have been times where I have been on the road and ol’ Wally World came in real handy.

Where else can you get a 3 pack of underwear, razor blades, 2 cycle engine oil, a head of lettuce, bungee cords, and some fishing lures.  Plus a $4.99 copy of Stroker Ace.  Do I need a copy of Stroker Ace?  No, but I got it for $4.99.

Great News: 42% Say Obamacare Is Generally Better Than Hookers And Blow

Posted by TheJOTUS on September 16, 2009

However, on a sad note, 55% of the country is now officially racist.

Oh, and by racist, I mean disapprove of Obama’s economy and soul crushing healthcare reform:

One week after President Obama’s speech to Congress, opposition to his health care reform plan has reached a new high of 55%. The latest Rasmussen Reports daily tracking poll shows that just 42% now support the plan, matching the low first reached in August.

A week ago, 44% supported the proposal and 53% were opposed. Following the speech last Wednesday night intended to relaunch the health care initiative, support for the president’s effort bounced as high as 51% (see day-by-day numbers). But the new numbers suggest that support for health care reform is now about the same as it was in August.

Seventy-four percent (74%) of Democrats now support the plan while 80% of Republicans are opposed. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 67% are opposed.

Man, if only there was something they could do to turn this around……oh, i know, how about demanding that protesters and opposition should be probed for “racist” thoughts.

Yeah, let me know how that works out.

“You Lie” Is Now Apparently A Synonym For Racism

Posted by TheJOTUS on September 16, 2009

That’s right, I said synonym. You might want to write that down.

You know what has been officially pronounced dead? Obama’s post-racial presidency. Of course, that was always a fraud. Starting way back in the primaries when he lobbed racial insinuations at the Clintons, on through the general election when McCain was accused of racism, and right on up to present day, when a guy who never shuts the hell up somehow can’t be bothered when his friends on the left start throwing racist bombs.

So yeah, it has to be dead. Because even now we have democrats and black politicians inciting even more racial divisions. Don’t believe it? Believe it. Every white person is one racially coded wink and a nod away from signing up with the invisible empire of the KKK.  Why, a democratic representative said so, so it has to be true:

Rep. Joe Wilson’s outburst last week is drawing new recriminations from his colleagues, with a member of the Congressional Black Caucus suggesting that a failure to rebuke Wilson is tantamount to supporting the most blatant form of organized racism in American history.

In an obvious reference to the KKK, Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., said Tuesday that people will put on “white hoods and ride through the countryside” if emerging racist attitudes, which he says were subtly supported by Wilson, are not rebuked. He said Wilson must be disciplined as an example.

The charged comments come as the House is preparing to take further action against the South Carolina Republican. House Democratic leaders decided to formally discipline him Tuesday afternoon for his jeer last week at President Obama during a joint session of Congress.

Well thank God the House so bravely voted to censure Mr. Wilson.  Cause I was like minutes away from forming my own nazi-skinhead heavy metal band.  Whew…

So because we criticize the President’s policies or agenda, we are racists? Because he is black, it’s his way and he wins on everything? Is that the new rule we are playing by?

That mentality is absurd and I reject it. You cannot claim we can’t call Obama a liar just because he is black. It doesn’t work that way. In fact, to paraphrase Serena Williams: You can take that line of thinking and shove it up your squeakhole.

What it really comes down to is the racism charge has become the Democrat’s excuse for a losing position on a pathetic argument, poorly constructed, and pushed in a blatant attempt to slide it by the American people.  So they name call.  It is the equivalent of taking their ball and going home.

Exit question:  Who really won here?  Sure he was reprimanded (and rightfully so) for his rude behavior.  Because of Wilson’s outburst, Obama’s lie was exposed leading the Senate to acknowledge HR3200 needed changing.  And since then, he has gone on to raise over a million and a half dollars for his next campaign.

What did the democrats get, except egg on their face?

RIP: Patrick Swayze

Posted by TheJOTUS on September 14, 2009

Patrick Swayze died today at the age of 57.  I’d like to think it was the result of wounds sustained single handedly stopping a Soviet Invasion of America.  But I am guessing it was Pancreatic cancer.  The meanest cancer of them all:

Patrick Swayze, the hunky actor who danced his way into moviegoers’ hearts with “Dirty Dancing” and then broke them with “Ghost,” died Monday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.

“Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,” said a statement released Monday evening by his publicist, Annett Wolf. Swayze died in Los Angeles, Wolf said, but declined to give further details.

As a kid, I remember seeing Red Dawn at the movie theatre when I was 12 years old.  My buddy’s sister worked at the theatre so we got to watch it like 4 times in a row for free.  Ahh, memories…

Rest in peace Mr. Swayze and WOLVERINES!!

The Double Deuce in the sky just got one bad ass cooler.  And remember the three simple rules:  One, never underestimate your opponent.  Expect the unexpected.  Two, take it outside.  Never start anything inside the bar unless it’s absolutely necessary.  And three, be nice.

Always be nice.

Kanye West: Hee Haw, Hee Haw, Hee Haw

Posted by TheJOTUS on September 14, 2009

That would be a jackass by the way.

In another act of complete douchebaggery, Kanye West has managed to solidify himself in the toolbag hall of fame.

Last night at the MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift received an award for best female video. As she was about to give her acceptance speech, Kanye bum rushed the stage, stole her microphone and proceeded to kick a bunch of sand in her face by shouting Beyonce had the best video of all time.

You stay classy Kanye.

What makes Kanye look even more like a jabroni is that Beyonce was given an award for best video of the year. Clown.

Beyonce, to her credit, took the opportunity to bring Swift back up on stage so she could finish her speech. Although, she should have publicly condemned Kanye’s actions, it was still a classy move.

Exit question: Why is a channel that doesn’t play videos, giving out video music awards? Just askin……

A Joe Wilson Victory And The Left Attacks?

Posted by TheJOTUS on September 12, 2009

I mentioned the other day Rep. Joe Wilson’s “You Lie” outburst during Obama’s speech.  In the past few days, lefty commentators and democrats have spent nearly zero time explaining the Presidents “new” and “improved” healthcare plan.    Instead, they have been busy talking about his lack of decorum and attacking him personally.

At issue, as I wrote earlier, is HR3200 the House version of Obamacare.  It mandates that all individuals in the United States—including illegal aliens—be covered by health insurance. Although it does not provide subsidies for illegal aliens, it does allow them to participate in the “healthcare exchanges.” It also contains a provision which prevents anyone from checking on the citizenship status of any person seeking healthcare.

As you now know, Obama lied and said illegals weren’t covered and Joe called him out on it.  Well low and behold, guess what?  Because of Joe Wilson’s startling lack of decorum, the Senate is close to shoring up the ObamaCare loophole for illegal immigrants the media or the left claimed didn’t exist.  Shocking, I know:

The controversy over Republican Rep. Joe Wilson’s shouting out “You Lie!” at the President over his claim that illegal immigrants wouldn’t benefit from health-care reform apparently sparked some reconsideration of the relevant language. “We really thought we’d resolved this question of people who are here illegally, but as we reflected on the President’s speech last night we wanted to go back and drill down again,” said Senator Kent Conrad, one of the Democrats in the talks after a meeting Thursday morning. Baucus later that afternoon said the group would put in a proof of citizenship requirement to participate in the new health exchange…

Those silly forgetful democrats.  They thought it was in there, so no lie!

And then there are the personal attacks.  Nothing surprising, but incredibly weak.  First up is this doucher, notating that Mr. Wilson and his sons receive free healthcare from their employer.  Of course their employer is the United States Armed Forces, which yeah, they get free healthcare.  You know, for anybody not a complete moron, this is laughable:

But it’s patently absurd to argue that, because your employer is providing benefits to you in exchange for your labor — let alone the very real danger of being sent to war for years on end, risking life and limb — that you’re a hypocrite if you oppose having the taxpayer provide them to everybody. Let alone to people who aren’t even citizens!

I’m only slightly less annoyed by the related trope that Congressmen who won’t vote to extend free health care to all citizens should give up their own taxpayer-provided benefits. Our health care system has evolved as one where employers provide benefits for their workers. For government workers — be they military personnel, file clerks at the Commerce Department, or Members of Congress — their employer is the United States taxpayer. It simply doesn’t follow that taking the benefits agreed to as a condition of employment requires extending said benefits to non-employees.

And then finally, you get The Hill bringing to light that Wilson has been taking NoDoz since college.  NoDoz.  A caffeine pill.  Meanwhile, we have the President who is an admitted cokehead but the media never really bothered to discuss that.

Yeah, come to think of it, I remember that Intervention episode.   Thank God they got there early, because, you know, it’s a gateway drug and all.  For the harder stuff like… well, like coke, which our President used to snort.

What it comes down to is Rep. Joe Wilson stood up and called a lie a lie.  And the left is in no hurry to change it.
