The Jim of the United States

RIP: Patrick Swayze

Posted by TheJOTUS on September 14, 2009

Patrick Swayze died today at the age of 57.  I’d like to think it was the result of wounds sustained single handedly stopping a Soviet Invasion of America.  But I am guessing it was Pancreatic cancer.  The meanest cancer of them all:

Patrick Swayze, the hunky actor who danced his way into moviegoers’ hearts with “Dirty Dancing” and then broke them with “Ghost,” died Monday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.

“Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,” said a statement released Monday evening by his publicist, Annett Wolf. Swayze died in Los Angeles, Wolf said, but declined to give further details.

As a kid, I remember seeing Red Dawn at the movie theatre when I was 12 years old.  My buddy’s sister worked at the theatre so we got to watch it like 4 times in a row for free.  Ahh, memories…

Rest in peace Mr. Swayze and WOLVERINES!!

The Double Deuce in the sky just got one bad ass cooler.  And remember the three simple rules:  One, never underestimate your opponent.  Expect the unexpected.  Two, take it outside.  Never start anything inside the bar unless it’s absolutely necessary.  And three, be nice.

Always be nice.
